"It's time to put Montana families first on the list of priorities at the State Legislature. As your Senator I will be a voice for strong schools, quality health care, and a Flathead Valley where our children can afford to live and make their homes. I'm running to for office for a better future for my children, and yours."

Brittany MacLean

Meet Brittany MacLean:

Brittany and Chloe Born in Missoula, Brittany MacLean's family moved to Whitefish when she was in second grade. After graduating from Whitefish High School, she completed her undergraduate work at the University of Montana and went on to earn a Master's degree in urban policy in New York. Brittany worked for Americorps in New York helping run an after school program for children and their parents.

After college, Brittany headed north to Alaska, where she co-founded the Juneau Family Health and Birth Center and served on the steering committee for the Juneau area Boys and Girls Club.

Brittany's husband, Kenny Kasselder, was a well-known mountaineer in the Flathead. He died in a climbing accident on Mount Hood in November 2004.

After her husband's death, Brittany returned home to Whitefish to raise her children where she grew up. She is a grant writer, working for organizations such as the Glacier National Park Fund.  However, her most important role remains being a full time mom to her four children: Zachary, Chloe, Garret, and Sofia.

Brittany understands the real issues facing working families in Senate District 2. She will be a voice for Flathead families concerned about the rising costs of energy, health care and housing. She knows first hand how important it is to have quality education for our children. Propelled by strong grassroots support in the primary campaign, she plans to take her energy on to victory in November.
